History

Dr Nourafshr donated this garden for the first time to children with polio who were abandoned in Tehran’s streets. By 1960 this 4500- meter garden was named as a Noorafshar sanatorium for Polio patients

Although the donor of the hospital could not see the opening ceremony of the hospital, in 1976 this hospital started working with specialized departments of orthopedics, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, laboratory and radiology.

After the revolution and during the imposed war, bonyade shahid was in charge of this hospital for the treatment of war wounded. After the war, this area was used as a sanatorium for war wounded for a while under the supervision of bonyade mostazafan.

With the follow-up of Iranian Red Crescent society managers, this hospital was extended until 2000 and in 2013 it became active as a specialized rehabilitation hospital in the Middle East.o
